"Yoga means addition – addition of energy, strength and beauty to body, mind and soul.”
- Amit Ray

welcome

I'm Kate, a qualified yoga teacher in London, teaching yoga in Sunbury-on-Thames and Kew.

My yoga classes are suitable for all levels including yoga beginners.

With a hectic corporate lifestyle, I discovered yoga six years ago as a way to get in shape and manage the various mental demands of a busy life.

I quickly found that yoga brought more unexpected benefits; improved posture, mental space, physical and mental balance and an increased sense of wellbeing to name just a few.

I soon became a lover of a strong Vinyasa Flow class, leaving the body and mind feeling calm, powerful and balanced.

This is reflected in my teaching, in which you can expect to work hard while creating beautiful shapes and graceful flows.

Yoga is for everyone, regardless of gender, age, or flexibility.  My classes are perfect for the brand new student or more experienced practitioner looking to brush up on the basics.  We will cover safe alignment of poses, sun salutation basics, and breath work in a non-judgemental and relaxed environment.

You will leave my yoga classes feeling stronger, uplifted and more balanced in body and mind.

"It's not about touching your toes - it's what you learn on the way down."

A regular yoga practice will enrich you with a full toolkit for your body and mind.

Yoga will increase your flexibility from whatever your starting point may be - you don't need to be flexible to practice yoga!

Yoga can firm up your body and give you a more defined shape.

Yoga can increase your physical strength and develop muscles in places you didn't know existed!

Yoga can help to balance the body by bringing it into equilibrium, improving posture and balance.

Most importantly, yoga can calm the mind, with practice bringing stillness to thought and a tranquility to your life.  It can equip you with the strength and grace to manage your life day by day and through more challenging times.

Yoga will teach you to be more in tune with your body, and you will leave class feeling calmer in mind and more uplifted in spirit.

There are many different types of yoga, and I teach a dynamic Vinyasa Flow class, linking movement with breath in a moving meditation.

"Having lessons with Kate was a revelation. She is extremely patient and supportive!"
- Charlotte, yoga student

"Kate is an incredible teacher. I had tried to get into yoga via group classes on and off for the past five years, but had always felt unconfident and as though I didn't know if I was doing it right. Having one to one lessons with Kate was a revelation. She is extremely patient and supportive, building up my confidence and adjusting poses so that I am comfortable. For the first time, I understand the flow of yoga and I'm really motivated to keep learning, as I've had a taste of the fitness and mental benefits - I want more!"

- Charlotte, yoga student
